2016: It’s Not to Late to Make This Year Count

2016: It’s Not to Late to Make This Year Count

Even though a little more than half of the year has already passed by, it’s never too late to make the most of the remainder of what 2016 might present to you and your business. If you are a potential entrepreneur, now is the time to make those preparations. Now is the time to plan for a business launch come the first of next year. There is much to do, and much to prepare, so there is no time like the present to begin.

Where are you and where do you need to go?

If you are already a business owner, you still have plenty of time to reach those lofty goals you made for you and your business seven months ago. The first thing to do is take out the plan you had for this year, evaluate it, and see where you are right now. How much have you actually achieved? How much more do you have to go?

Did you have a financial projection for this year? If you are not on track to make that mark by year’s end, you need to get to work right now. You need to start working that phone and re-establishing or making new contacts. You need to get out and network. You need to make sure your blog and website content is new and engaging. You need to boost your profile at your social media platforms and maybe even consider an advertising campaign or quick PPC effort to jump-start that traffic and those sales.

It’s easy to get overwhelmed so simply break things down into separate steps. What do you need to get accomplished this month to get to where you want to be by year’s end? Once you have that, then break that down into what needs to be done every week and every day of that month. Small daily accomplishments will get you there by month’s end.

Schedule yourself in, adjust and reward

To make that daily schedule of goals, you need to make appointments with yourself. Write down exactly what you need to do onto your calendar every day so that it is right there staring at you every morning. You would write down a meeting or a business event or even a birthday wouldn’t you? Doesn’t what you need to do the rest of the year to attain your goals carry at least that much weight and importance?

As events and plans play out, take the time, every week and every day, to evaluate and make your adjustments to keep things on track. You may have to reschedule some things or add some others in response to new events. Whatever it is you need to do, write it down and make it happen when it needs to happen.

Finally, don’t forget about you. Don’t forget to take the time to congratulate yourself and reward yourself for reaching those daily, weekly and monthly goals. Take the time to appreciate all you have done to make your business a success. If you have employees, take the time to keep them in the loop. Take the time to thank them for their efforts. A little gratitude goes a long way toward getting where you need to be by the end of the year.
